    Commitment Details:
    Board Members are required to attend monthly meetings that are two to four hours in length and participate on committees as requested. Board Members are required to serve for a term of four years and may serve for two consecutive terms.

    Description

    Board Members

    The Board of Directors oversee Community Care Durham’s affairs within the framework of applicable laws and standards as they relate to Mission, Vision and Values, Leadership and Succession Planning, Risk and Quality Assurance and Community Connections.

    The Board of Directors has the responsibility and authority to approve strategic planning and directives; budgets and purchases; CEO goals, performance management and compensation as well as the evaluation of their own performance, roles and responsibilities.

    Candidates should have a strong knowledge and understanding of the subject matter with seasoned experience in:

    • Legal & Regulatory
    • Governance & Board Effectiveness
    • Human Capital & Organizational Sustainability
    • Regulated Health/Clinical Governance

    Candidates should have knowledge and understanding of the non-profit sector and be aware of the community supports services in Durham Region.
