Volunteer with Heartland Hospice

At Heartland Hospice, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families during life’s final journey. Our volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.

Available Volunteer Roles Include:

1. Patient Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients through conversation, listening, and the power of presence.
2. Family Support: Provide respite and support to family members, helping them navigate this challenging time.
3. Administrative Support: Assist with office tasks, such as answering phones, filing, making copies, organizing materials, data entry, mailings, and event planning.

Location: Extended Care Facility or Private Home

Time Commitment: Flexible, Weekdays and Weekends, Daytime and Evenings

Qualifications:

1. Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful demeanor.
2. Good communication skills and the ability to listen actively.
3. Background check, fingerprinting, drug screening, TB Testing, attend orientation, and complete annual trainings.
4. Provide 3 references that will attest to your good character
5. 18 years of age or older
6. Reliable transportation
