At Heartland Hospice, we are dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families during life’s final journey. Our volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.
Available Volunteer Roles Include:
- Patient Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients through conversation, listening, and the power of presence.
- Family Support: Provide respite and support to family members, helping them navigate this challenging time.
- Administrative Support: Assist with office tasks, such as answering phones, filing, making copies, organizing materials, data entry, mailings, and event planning.
Location: Extended Care Facility or Private Home
Time Commitment: Flexible, Weekdays and Weekends, Daytime and Evenings
Qualifications:
- Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful demeanor.
- Good communication skills and the ability to listen actively.
- Background check, fingerprinting, drug screening, TB Testing, attend orientation, and complete annual trainings.
- Provide 3 references that will attest to your good character
- 18 years of age or older
- Reliable transportation
