We seek an unpaid intern who can work two days a week to bring the Arts Olympiad to schools nationwide and worldwide.
About ICAF
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, ICAF has served American children since 1997 as their national arts organization to seed their imagination, cultivate creativity, and grow mutual empathy among them (for “a more perfect union”) and with their peers worldwide (for a peaceful future).
What is the Arts Olympiad?
The Arts Olympiad is a free school art program designed for students aged 8-12, aiming to engage them in creative and empathetic development through art inspired by the concept of "artist-athletes." This initiative broadens horizons and promotes creative minds and healthy bodies. The program includes information about the Olympics and the opportunity to create a unique artwork to be submitted to the International Child Art Foundation for the chance to exhibit at our upcoming World Children's Festival in summer 2026.
What you'll be doing:
Teachers guide students aged 8 to 12 through a brief overview of the Olympics and their history, as well as some of the sports that are a part of the Olympic competitions. Then, students are asked to imagine their favorite sport and create an original piece of visual art inspired by it. You will assist teachers in implementing the lesson plan. You will also assist in conducting the lesson plan at local public libraries.
