    Description

    Kids Cooking Class Volunteers

About Us: Sun Valley Kitchen + Community Center (SVK+CC) is a community hub centered around food, where people of all backgrounds and incomes thrive, connect, and support each other. Our programming is specifically designed to support historically underserved communities, and we engage everyone, across demographics, in our programming and work. We are particularly focused on building social cohesion among the residents of the rapidly changing Sun Valley neighborhood.

Volunteer Role and Responsibilities: As a Kids Cooking Class Leader, you will play a vital role in planning and facilitating engaging activities around cooking for 3rd-5th graders in Sun Valley, here in Denver, CO. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assist the instructor in teaching and demonstrations.
    • Ensure a safe and secure cooking environment for children.
    • Guide and demonstrate cooking techniques to the children.
    • Help with ingredient preparation and organization.
    • Support cleanup and maintain a tidy kitchen.
    • Engage and encourage active participation.
