    About LoopRoots Foundation

LoopRoots Foundation is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering families and rebuilding futures for those impacted by incarceration and systemic barriers.

Through our ecosystem of programs — each designed to address a key part of family stability and reentry — we create holistic, sustainable impact:

    • Loop Works – Workforce development & job placement
    • Loop Financial Literacy – Money management, banking, and credit repair
    • Loop Housing – Affordable housing, rental stability, and first-time homebuyer support
    • Loop Entrepreneurs – Micro-enterprise and small-business mentorship
    • Loop Legal – Legal aid, record expungement & advocacy
    • Loop Youth – After-school programs, sports, arts & youth mentorship
    • Loop Health – Mental health, wellness, and community health access

Each initiative helps families strengthen their foundation and move toward long-term stability.

    Position Summary

LoopRoots Foundation is seeking two passionate Volunteer Grant Writers to help secure critical funding for our expanding family-impact programs.

As part of our growing development team, you’ll research funding opportunities, craft compelling proposals, and collaborate with program leads to translate impact into measurable outcomes.

Your work will directly fuel programs that provide housing, jobs, wellness, and opportunity for justice-impacted families.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and identify grant opportunities across foundations, corporations, and government sources.
    • Write, edit, and submit compelling letters of inquiry (LOIs), proposals, and reports.
    • Collaborate with program directors to develop accurate budgets and data-driven narratives.
    • Maintain an organized grants pipeline and reporting calendar in Zoho Projects.
    • Support post-award tracking and outcome reporting for funded programs.
    • Help build our grants database and reusable templates to scale future applications.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
    • Ability to connect program goals with measurable impact outcomes.
    • Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or grant writing (preferred).
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Comfortable working independently in a collaborative remote environment (via Zoho and Slack).

    What You’ll Gain

    • Real-world experience writing and managing grants for a national nonprofit.
    • Close collaboration with leadership on strategic funding initiatives.
    • Letters of recommendation and professional references upon completion.
    • The opportunity to help families and communities rebuild their futures.
