The Finance Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring sound financial management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective use of resources.
What will you be doing?
Leadership & Management
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the finance team to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and professional growth.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance unit.
Financial Planning & Strategy
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
Financial Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and present reports to management and the board.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks, tax laws, and audit requirements.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks affecting the organization.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and improve efficiency.
- Oversee financial systems, software, and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for better financial management and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage).
Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
Minimum of 5–7 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Experience in nonprofit/NGO, corporate, or government sector.
