We are proud of the service that we offer our patients, families and facilities, but it is nice to have that confirmed by those we are serving. The Volunteer Department manages the Check-In With Families on-going project. Once a month we reach out to each family asking them if there is any issue or concern and remind them of the support that is available to them, as well as the 24/7 nature that we are available for them.
If you are good on the phone, please consider this volunteer project. We are replacing someone who is going back to school. If you can give about two hours a week, for 3 out of the 4 weeks of a month, we can use you. Once trained, you will work from your own home and phone, unless you want to come to the office. When done well, these calls can foster support to the family, as they get an opportunity to talk about their situation to your caring ear.
So if you are compassionate and have time to give, and you appreciate the importance that these calls can be to the assurance that the agency stays on task, and so our families get the care they need, please respond to this post.
Please know that all hospice volunteers do go through the same basic onboarding and training process prior to starting their specific interest and reason for volunteering.
If you are interested in this post, please reply, sending an email to the Volunteer Coordinator: SBallas@VitalityHospice.com . When you do, you will be sent detailed information about the onboarding process, so you can make an informed decision about getting involved. Once you indicate that you accept what is needed, you will be sent our Application, which is the official start to onboarding.
