    Description

    Gardening Opportunities!

Heritage Village Museum is filled with beautiful gardens including an herb garden, a dye garden, a kitchen garden, an apple orchard, a vineyard, and many plantings that beautify our thirteen historic buildings. We use many of these gardens to educate schoolchildren and the public about the 19th century. We are looking for gardeners to join our wonderful core of gardening volunteers led by Master Gardeners. Garden volunteers can help with watering, weeding, planting, mulching, and other gardening activities as needed.

We consider Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm gardening "core hours." During that time we have many gardeners here to work together. If you are looking for a gardening opportunity with a social aspect, you may want to join us on Wednesday mornings. If you aren't available during that time, no problem. The timing, frequency, and duration of garden volunteering is very flexible. The first time you volunteer, we will arrange to have one of our Master Gardeners meet with you. They will show you what needs to be done and work with you to provide gardening opportunities that fit your schedule.
