    Description

    About Us

We are a grassroots organization providing humanitarian aid and assistance to refugees across Europe. Founded in September 2015 as a platform to coordinate volunteer efforts during humanitarian emergencies along the Balkan route, we have since established ourselves in Northern Greece as a volunteer-based aid organization guided by the principle of "dignity first."

Our work focuses on sustainable, long-term support through material assistance, community building, social activities, and informal education. We currently operate two main projects: the Warehouse and the Community Centre.

    The Warehouse

Our warehouse serves as the largest humanitarian logistics hub in the region, providing emergency relief and closing gaps in the official aid system. We receive donations from across Europe, and our volunteers sort and pack relief supplies for distribution to several camps and social projects throughout Northern Greece.

    The Community Centre

The Centre provides a welcoming space focused on dignity, community building, social inclusion, informal education, and access to crucial information. Our current activities include:

    • Informal adult language lessons (English, Greek, and German)
    • Child-friendly space
    • Employment and Information Centre
    • Community time and social activities
    • Football and field games
    • Women's space and teen girls' space
    • Monthly hygiene product distributions for local camp residents
    • Free-shop style clothing distribution

    Volunteer Experience

We create weekly schedules and rotate volunteers across different tasks and projects based on organizational needs. General volunteers work in both locations and various sub-projects. While we try to match your interests to specific roles, we believe supporting the project as a whole is the main goal, so tasks and schedules may vary.

    General Volunteer Requirements

To volunteer with us, you should be:

    • At least 20 years old
    • Passionate about our cause and motivated to work in a challenging environment
    • Flexible, committed, and able to adapt to changing needs
    • Available for a minimum of 6 weeks
    • Able to provide a background check/criminal record certificate (or equivalent)

All candidates participate in a full interview process. We request police checks and two references from everyone we offer positions to.

    Specialized Roles

Some volunteers take on dedicated roles requiring specific skills, experience, and longer commitments. These positions involve additional responsibility for one aspect of the project while still contributing to other areas as needed.
