    Description

Community Moderators & Event Stewards — Barista Team (Remote)

    Description

AFK Cafe moderators (Baristas) help maintain the structure, safety, and rhythm of the community. This role combines engagement with responsibility — moderators support people, guide tone, and help maintain the integrity of the space.

Moderation here is not passive. It is an active, trained role.

    Moderator Responsibilities May Include

    Community Safety

    • holding boundaries calmly
    • conflict de-escalation
    • maintaining psychological safety

    Community Presence

    • guiding tone and engagement
    • supporting conversations
    • modeling participation

    Events

    • stewarding live experiences
    • helping maintain flow during sessions
    • supporting facilitators

    Outreach Representation

    • representing AFK Cafe externally
    • supporting partnerships and collaborations

    Systems Awareness

    • understanding Discord structure
    • supporting onboarding flow
    • communicating operational needs

Moderators grow through training and consistency rather than applying directly into authority.

    Pathway

Alignment → Onboarding → Barista in Training → Brew Crew → Barista (Moderator)

Onboarding and training are required before stepping into moderation.
