    About the Role

We are seeking a Press & Media Coordinator Volunteer to support our film festival’s visibility through thoughtful press outreach and media coordination. This role is ideal for someone interested in arts PR, journalism, communications or event media who wants hands-on experience in a supportive, inclusive environment.

This is a voluntary role. We provide a clear role outline, a welcoming team environment, a volunteer handbook and ongoing support to ensure you feel safe, included and able to ask questions at any time.

    What You’ll Be Doing

As a volunteer, your tasks can be adjusted within reason based on your availability, interests and development goals. Typical activities include:

    • Create a professional media pack, including:
      • Festival profile and key facts
      • High-quality images and visuals, working closely with the Online Content Creator
      • Clear press contact information
    • Research, build and maintain press, media and influencer contact lists.
    • Draft and send press outreach messages to local and national media.
    • Invite and coordinate press, media and influencers to screenings, talks and special events.
    • Liaise with the festival team to ensure accurate and timely information.

You will never be expected to work alone at events and will be supported by a designated contact person.

    Who We’re Looking For

You do not need professional experience. We welcome learners and creative thinkers.

You’re a good fit if you:

    • Are interested in press, PR, journalism, or cultural events
    • Communicate clearly and professionally
    • Good level of written English
    • Enjoy research and relationship-building
    • Are curious, take initiative and comfortable asking questions
    • Value teamwork and a supportive creative environment
