    Workforce Development: Community Donations Team Chair-Leadership Role

    The Community Donations Team Chair provides leadership to the Donations Team by cultivating, securing professional clothing and accessory donations. This role ensures the Professional Clothing Closet remains well-stocked and ready to support Reading Connections students as they prepare for interviews and confidently step into new career opportunities.

    Instructions:

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Recruit, coordinate, and encourage members of the Community Donations Team, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven volunteer experience.
    • Design and lead strategic outreach efforts to engage community groups, businesses, faith organizations, and clubs in hosting “Pack the Clothing Rack” donation drives.
    • Monitor, track donations and proactively communicate inventory needs and trends to the Operations Manager and Closet Chair.
    • Partner closely with Reading Connection staff to ensure all donation initiatives align with current student needs, program goals, and overall organizational priorities.

    Expectations

    • Represents Reading Connections with professionalism, inclusivity, positivity and respect in all interactions with volunteers, donors, and community partners
    • Maintain consistent communication with Closet Chair to support alignment and success.
    • Provide timely updates on upcoming donation drives, and related outreach efforts.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, strong organizational skills, with relationship-building abilities to guide initiatives from planning through execution.
    • Experience in fundraising and community engagement, preferred and valued.
