Volunteer Opportunity: Director of Community Impact & Strategic Initiatives
Location: Hybrid (San Antonio, TX)
Reports to: Founder/President & CEO
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours/week (flexible based on project needs)
Position Summary
The Director of Community Impact and Strategic Initiatives will lead the development and execution of innovative programs and partnerships that advance the mission of God’s Messenger of Victorious People (GMOVP). This role is essential to expanding GMOVP’s reach, fostering sustainable community engagement, and driving measurable outcomes that help the unsheltered overcome barriers to independence and freedom from homelessness.
This is a volunteer leadership position with the potential to transition into a paid role based on performance and funding availability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Development
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to shape and implement strategic initiatives
- Analyze community trends and challenges to inform program design
- Develop scalable solutions that promote equity and empowerment
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Build relationships with nonprofits, government agencies, and community leaders
- Represent GMOVP at events and meetings to increase visibility and secure support
- Lead stakeholder engagement efforts with volunteers, donors, and sponsors
Program Oversight
- Oversee implementation and evaluation of key programs
- Establish success metrics and assess community impact
- Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant proposals
Leadership & Collaboration
- Guide staff, volunteers, and board members toward strategic goals
- Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and collaboration
- Serve as a thought leader and advocate for GMOVP’s mission
Qualifications
- Proven experience in program development, nonprofit leadership, or community engagement
- Strong understanding of homelessness and related social issues
- Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Passion for social change and GMOVP’s mission
Preferred Skills
- Grant writing and fundraising experience
- Knowledge of housing, workforce development, or social services
- Leadership in a growing nonprofit or grassroots initiative
