    Description

    Foundation Board Member

The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park (EHFOP) is a literary arts and educational organization.

We seek a new board member to assist in our foundation’s mission to preserve, educate and explore the creative excellence embodied in the life and writing of Ernest Hemingway. More specifically, by providing opportunities for students, scholars, and visitors to better understand the personal goals and influences affecting Hemingway, the Foundation enables students, scholars and other visitors to experience what it means to be a disciplined writer influenced by local and world events, as well as personal cultural values. In addition to honoring the past, we also dedicate ourselves to the present and future, by striving to support writers and artists of all kinds, to hear their stories, to collectively engage both artists and audiences in serving as a community cornerstone.

As we strive to do more to nurture the creative spirit of the next generation, we seek those willing to share their gifts and expertise to assist us in these endeavors. We specifically would welcome someone with fundraising/grant writing experience.

Time and financial obligations required. Monthly meetings, additional information will be forwarded to qualified applicants for their review prior to next steps, virtual discussion, etc.

The foundation would prefer candidates within the Chicagoland area.
