KAMA DC's core group is made up of 15-20 volunteers who meet once a week on Wednesday evenings on zoom from 6:30-7:30pm.
We are looking for a volunteer to join our promotions team to support both general promotion and the DC Immigration Film Festival!
The promotions team is responsible for all external facing communications, including managing our social media accounts and website, designing graphics, creating videos, sending mailings, and conducting outreach. They also run the Immigrants of the DMV (@immigrantsoftheDMV) instagram account.
Specifically, we are interested in anybody with experience using Canva, MailChimp, and social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.
KAMA DC has runs the DC Immigration Film Festival. Responsibilities for volunteers supporting this festival will be co-managing the film festival, leading social media and outreach announcements, etc.
KAMA DC particularly encourages refugees, immigrants, and BIPOC to apply. Given the in-person requirements and nature of KAMA events, volunteers must live in Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia.
