    Part-Time Teacher Assistant

    Position Title: Part-Time Teacher’s Aide

    Reports To: Lead Teacher / Executive Director

    Status: Part-Time | 20 Hours per Week | $18/hour

    Position Overview:

    Iron Village Preparatory Academy is seeking a dedicated and dependable Teacher’s Aide to support our mixed-grade, project-based learning environment. This individual will work closely with the Lead Teacher to foster a culturally affirming, academically engaging classroom. The Teacher’s Aide will assist with instructional support, classroom management, and student supervision - occasionally leading small group activities or lessons as directed.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day instruction and supervision of students

    • Support classroom routines including arrival, transitions, lunch and dismissal

    • Prepare instructional materials and maintain organized classroom spaces

    • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support as needed

    • Lead activities or small instructional groups under guidance from the Lead Teacher

    • Monitor student behavior and provide reinforcement for positive behavior choices

    • Support field trips, school events, and enrichment sessions

    • Uphold the core values of Iron Village Prep: academic exploration, cultural celebration and community engagement

    Qualifications:
    • At least 1 year of experience working with children (school, camp, or youth programs)

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or coursework in education preferred

    • Strong communication skills, patience and a collaborative spirit

    • Comfort working in a mixed-grade setting with a culturally responsive curriculum

    • Passion for supporting students and learning alongside a dynamic educator team

    Compensation:
    • Hourly Rate: $18/hour

    • Schedule: 20 hours/week, Monday-Thursday

    • Eligible for school-based professional development opportunities
