Key Responsibilities
- Greet people entering the local unit, determine nature and purpose of visit,
and direct or escort them to specific destinations
- Perform various administrative support tasks
- Provide administrative support to Red Cross staff and volunteers
- Answer telephone calls, take messages, or transfer calls
- Sort and deliver incoming mail and send outgoing mail
- Provide general information to staff, volunteers, clients, and the public
- Type, format, or edit documents
- Copy, file, and maintain paper or electronic documents and records
- Create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
- Write and send emails to staff, clients, and the public
- Schedule and confirm appointments and maintain event calendars
- Collect and follow up with any issues, feedback and stories from customers
and the public
- Keep inventory of office supplies and kitchen supplies
- Assist with meeting set up

- Work well with others
- Respectful and maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to learn
- Computer skills are desired, but not required
- Internet at home if wanting to do virtual work
- Ability to answer phones, learn multi-line system, and answer questions from
the public
Are you able to handle multiple tasks at once (phone calls, in-person
visitors etc.)
