    • Conduct background research and fact-check all content prior to submission
    • Collaborate with editors to revise drafts and incorporate feedback
    • Meet assigned deadlines and follow HRRC’s editorial standards and style guidelines
    • Assist with headline writing and sourcing images or supporting materials, as needed

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing and research skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and accurately
    • Demonstrated interest in human rights, journalism, international affairs, law, or social justice
    • At least one year of experience in news writing, journalism, research, blogging, or related work (professional, academic, or volunteer)
    • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced, and start-up environment
    • Familiarity with journalistic ethics and responsible sourcing
    • Experience with Google Suite and collaborative tools such as Slack preferred
    • Degree or coursework in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Human Rights, International Relations, or a related field is preferred
