The board member for Volunteer Engagement plays a crucial role in enhancing our organizations mission by managing volunteer recruitment process, facilitating introductions between new volunteers and our team. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a passion for equine welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Volunteer Management - oversee the volunteer match process to ensure that volunteers are matched with roles that align with their skills and interests.
- develop and maintain a comprehensive list of available volunteer positions, ensuring clarity on responsibilities and expectations.
- regularly update the organizations website and social media platforms with current volunteer opportunities to attract new participants.
- Volunteer Recruitment and orientation- organize and conduct meet and greet sessions with new volunteers to assess their skill and interests, provide information about the organization, and facilitate a smoot onboarding process. interview new volunteers to gauge their motivations and suitability for various roles within the organization.
- community outreach - act as a liaison between volunteers and other board members or staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. promote volunteer opportunities through outreach efforts including social media, campaigns, community partnerships, and local networking.
reporting and feedback - provide regular updates to the board regarding volunteer engagement metrics, event success and areas for improvement. gather feedback from volunteers to continuously enhance the volunteer experience
qualifications
- strong interpersonal and communication skills. experience in volunteer management or community engagement is preferred.
