    Description

    The LaunchBot Student Leader role is designed for motivated high school students who want to develop leadership skills while inspiring the next generation of STEM learners. Student leaders plan and run fundraising initiatives, build partnerships in their local communities, and lead robotics and coding workshops for K–6 students using LaunchBot’s ready-made curriculum.

    Responsibilities

    • Fundraising: Design and execute local initiatives (e.g., bake sales, online campaigns) to acquire robots, tablets, and supplies.
    • Outreach: Connect with schools, libraries, and youth centers to establish and maintain partnerships.
    • Teaching & Facilitation: Deliver robotics and coding workshops, guiding younger students through hands-on projects with LaunchBot’s lesson plans and instructor guides.
    • Progress Tracking: Complete a short monthly check-in form and communicate with the LaunchBot team as needed for support.

    Qualifications

    • High school student (grades 9–12) with an interest in leadership, STEM, or community service
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Enthusiasm for working with children and building community partnerships
    • No prior coding experience required

    Time Commitment & Format

    • Time Commitment: 2–4 hours per week, flexible scheduling
    • Format: Combination of virtual (fundraising, outreach) and in-person TO YOUR LOCATION (teaching) work
    • Support: Access to LaunchBot’s three-chapter leadership manual, monthly check-ins, and one-on-one mentorship as needed
