    About She’s Going Places

    She’s Going Places (SGP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls through financial literacy, hygiene programs, personal and professional development, and cultural exchange opportunities. We host events, summits, retreats, and experiences that connect communities, inspire growth, and raise awareness for our mission.

    Position Summary

    The Director of Events & Experiences is responsible for designing and coordinating meaningful events that bring SGP’s mission to life. This role oversees the planning, logistics, and promotion of in-person and virtual experiences — from community workshops and galas to international retreats and summits.

    This is a volunteer leadership position suited for someone with experience in event planning, project management, or hospitality who is passionate about creating impactful experiences.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and manage SGP events including retreats, summits, workshops, fundraisers, and community gatherings.
    • Collaborate with Marketing & Development Directors to promote events and maximize engagement.
    • Secure sponsorships, venues, vendors, and speakers for events.
    • Create event budgets and ensure cost-effective execution.
    • Coordinate volunteers and staff during event planning and delivery.
    • Develop post-event evaluations to measure impact and improve future experiences.
    • Ensure all events reflect SGP’s mission and brand.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience in event planning, project management, or hospitality.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Creative thinker with attention to detail.
    • Passion for women’s empowerment and building community experiences.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 6–10 hours per week (remote and flexible, with some events requiring additional time).
    • Participation in monthly leadership and team meetings (virtual).
