    Volunteer 1 day per week (Mon or Wed) for 1.5 hours (1:00–2:30 PM) with a 6–8 week minimum commitment. Schedule is flexible and coordinated with staff to fit your availability.

    About Iron Village Preparatory Academy

    Iron Village Preparatory Academy (IVP) is a small, student-centered K–8 microschool in Richmond focused on academic growth, curiosity, and creative problem-solving. We are seeking volunteers to support students in math, science, and social sciences during the afternoon school block in a hands-on, relationship-driven environment.

    Volunteer Role: Academic Support

    As a volunteer, you’ll assist students in small groups, help reinforce lessons, and foster curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Your presence as a supportive mentor can make a meaningful difference in students’ learning experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support students during math, science, and social studies lessons
    • Help students work through problems, projects, and inquiry-based activities
    • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration
    • Serve as a positive role model in the classroom

    Schedule & Commitment

    • Monday and/or Wednesday afternoons, 1:00–2:30 PM
    • 1 day per week preferred
    • 6–8 week minimum commitment
    • Flexible scheduling coordinated with school staff
