    Book nook responsibilities average about 20-25 hours/week. These can be fulfilled by any of the volunteers. In the event of a scheduling issue, the book nook manager needs be available to coordinate coverage.

    Description

    The Book Nook is a used book sale held within the library. It is staffed entirely by volunteers. The income generated from the sale of books is used to support library programs and services. The Book Nook Manager is a volunteer position. This person manages incoming donations as well as the workroom. He/she ensures that the Book Nook is well maintained. The manager also trains, schedules volunteers and supervises as needed. He gives the board of directors updates about the book nook at their monthly meetings.

    Qualifications

    • Self-motivated, capable of working autonomously
    • Enjoy working with the general public
    • Interest in books
    • Ability to use a computer
    • Ability to stand for a few hours and to lift up to 25 lb. regularly
    • Knowledge of alphabetical order
    • Understanding of difference between fiction and nonfiction
