By becoming someone's mentor, be the person to change the lives of our struggling youth in foster care. With our project we create the village and the community our youth need to thrive with your help.
Be A Mentor is partnering with Alameda County Office Of Ed to support struggling youth in Foster Care. This is an in-person mentoring program. You will spend most of your time in the community with your mentee exploring, talking, and learning about their needs.
1 on 1 mentoring gives students more opportunities for success regardless of their background. It’s especially important for youth who may not have consistent adults in their lives to connect with.
All mentors are required to complete a background check and training. And our mentoring coordinator will be available for support throughout the program. We ask that you commit to at least 1 hour per week for a full calendar year. Consistency is important to build trust between you and your mentee.
