    Description

    Overview:

    The Communications & Press Outreach Volunteer helps increase visibility and awareness of our mission through strategic messaging and outreach. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in communications, media relations, and public-facing storytelling.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Draft press releases, organizational announcements, and media updates
    • Support outreach to local news outlets, partners, and community platforms
    • Update/maintain a contact list of press, media, and promotional partners
    • Assist with drafting official statements, talking points, or organizational messaging
    • Track mentions, press coverage, and outreach outcomes

    Ideal Skills & Qualities:

    • Strong writing and communication abilities
    • Professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable representing the organization
    • Interest in media relations, public communication, or PR
    • Able to interpret key updates and translate them into clear, compelling messages
