    The Annual Report and Tax Filing Director

    Position Overview:

    The Annual Report and Tax Filing Director will assist the nonprofit foundation with preparing and submitting required annual reports and tax documents, including the IRS Form 990 and any state-specific filings. This role is critical for maintaining the foundation's compliance with state and federal regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Annual Report Filing:

      • Prepare and submit the foundation’s annual report to the state regulatory agency.

      • Gather financial data and relevant documentation needed for accurate reporting.

      • Track filing deadlines and ensure timely submission.

    • Tax Filing:

      • Assist in preparing and filing the IRS Form 990-N or 990-EZ (as applicable).

      • Work with the Treasurer to compile income, donation, and expense data.

      • Maintain accurate records of submitted documents and official correspondence.

    • Compliance and Documentation:

      • Monitor filing requirements and updates from the IRS and state authorities.

      • Maintain a checklist of compliance obligations and their respective deadlines.

      • Keep organized records of filed reports and tax returns.

    • Collaboration and Communication:

      • Coordinate with the Treasurer and Board members to gather necessary information.

      • Provide updates on filing progress and alert the team of any challenges or delays.

    Qualifications:
    • Basic understanding of nonprofit compliance and IRS tax forms (training can be provided).

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Proficiency with spreadsheets and document management.

    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

    • Experience with nonprofit accounting or tax filing (preferred but not required).
