Atlanta Angels believes that not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can make a difference in a child's life. One way you can make an impact is through our Dare to Dream program. The Dare to Dream program focuses on one-on-one mentoring for youth (ages 11-22) who are in foster care, at-risk to age out, or have aged-out. Mentors serve as positive role models who meet with their youth to build relationships and empower them to accomplish their goals. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to provide youth who are in or have aged out of care with the one-on-one support they need to feel safe, capable, and loved.
This program requires a one-year commitment, with meetings at least twice a month with your mentee.
We are currently seeking specific mentors to be matched with youth on our waitlist! We are specifically looking for volunteers in or around the Forest Park area for youth number #159.
This youth is a bubbly and kind 14 y/o. She loves doing "normal" tween girl things, like going on walks, going to the mall, watching a movie, and playing with puppies. She is very into animals and would love a mentor who has pets and/or would be open to spending time with animals together. She will need a mentor who is patient and understanding of her developmental delays, making her seem younger than she is. This mentor should go in with the goal of being a consistent person for her.
Please reach out to Allie at volunteers@atlantaangels.org for more information or please visit our website. If you are in or near the Forest Park area and are interested in supporting a youth in your community, please reach out!
