    Description

SafePlace International (SPI) is a global nonprofit working across more than 30 countries to support LGBTQIA+ and other doubly marginalized communities through leadership development, emergency assistance, community-led initiatives, and long-term systems change. Through programs like the Dream Academy, Acts of Kindness projects, and graduate-led community networks, SPI equips local leaders to respond to urgent needs while building sustainable, dignity-centered solutions. Our model is rooted in partnership, innovation, and the belief that communities closest to the challenge hold the wisdom to lead the way forward.

    Position Summary

The Like-Kind Donation Team mobilizes essential goods and services for SPI staff, community leaders, and program graduates around the world. This team reaches out to companies to request donated items, from laptops and mobile phones to winter coats, personal care products, online subscription services, and mobile data. Volunteers in this role cultivate relationships with corporate partners to secure both one-time and ongoing product support that directly strengthens SPI’s programs and the communities we serve.

This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-builder who enjoys outreach, partnership development, and creating tangible impact through resource mobilization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and research companies that may provide in-kind or product donations
    • Conduct outreach to potential corporate partners through email, phone, and social platforms
    • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with donor companies
    • Communicate SPI’s mission, programs, and impact clearly to prospective partners
    • Coordinate with SPI operations and program teams to understand current resource needs
    • Track outreach, commitments, and fulfilled donations
    • Support acknowledgment and stewardship of donor partners
    • Collaborate with other volunteer teams across development and communications

    Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Confidence with outreach and relationship-building
    • Organized and reliable follow-through
    • Comfort representing an organization professionally to external partners
    • Passion for humanitarian work and community-led development
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, international team environment
    • Experience in fundraising, sales, partnerships, or customer relations is a plus

    Time Commitment

Flexible. 3–6 hours per week, with schedules adapted to availability and time zones.

    Why Join

Your outreach will place real tools directly into the hands of community leaders, a laptop that launches a new initiative, winter coats that protect families, and mobile data that connects graduates to training and employment.
