    Description

We are excited that you are interested in becoming a Hub Mentor!

The Co Lab’s mission to empower teens to become changemakers around the world! We offer teens ages 13-19 from anywhere in the world a virtual platform (SDG Hubs) to generate change through purposeful conversation and actions focused on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We provide exposure to leadership opportunities, educational resources, and networking opportunities with peers and mentors globally who share similar passions.

Each Hub meets weekly and is led by two teens with at least one adult mentor. Mentors are asked to attend the SDG Hub, a one-hour meeting once a week to support the Hub. All Hub projects follow the passion and interests of the teens in the Hub.

Commit to 2 hours/week average on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday depending on which hub aligns with your interest), which includes:

    • A minimum of 9 months (Sept 2025 - June 2026)
    • Consistently attending weekly 1 hour long Hub meetings to develop supportive spaces, provide guidance, and empower teens
    • Meet with Ambassadors 10 minutes prior to the start of meetings
    • Attending monthly All Hands meetings, followed by brief mentor meetings for one and a half hours
    • Letting teens develop leadership skills by letting them run and operate meetings, providing direction and advice appropriately
    • Following up with work during the week if necessary
    • Staying informed about the Hub topic and current events to provide resources and connections as necessary

Collaborate with Hub Leaders and Staff to ensure strong communication, timeliness, and planning efforts in hub logistics:

    • Working closely with Hub Ambassadors to develop goals, action plans, and agendas
    • Ensuring that the Hub Secretary is posting meeting notice on Slack weekly at least 24 hours in advance (agenda, link to video room, time), providing reminders if needed
    • Communicating with Hub Manager to provide updates and report project progress
