    Description

    The Community Centre for Integrated Development (CCID) is committed to advancing the rights of communities, women, girls, and young people in Cameroon. CCID focuses on strengthening community leaders and community-based organizations to respond to the needs of indigenous people. The organization envisions an Africa where young people have access to information, resources, and educational opportunities to assume leadership roles focused on social planning and system change.

    Responsibilities

    The DECIDE Platform Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end flow of the youth polling platform to ensure youth voices are translated into advocacy and action.

    1. Poll Management: Schedule and distribute weekly polls via WhatsApp and SMS while maintaining a basic polling tracker in Excel or Google Sheets.
    2. Data Monitoring: Monitor responses to identify emerging trends and social issues, ensuring individual cases are not flagged to maintain privacy.
    3. Reporting: Draft simple summaries of poll results to support CCID’s goal of pushing community-driven development.
    4. Feedback Loops: Support the "You Spoke, We Acted" initiative to ensure participants see the impact of their shared information.
    5. Ethics & Confidentiality: Ensure the highest standards of consent and confidentiality, upholding CCID's principle that individuals should be free from coercion, violence, and discrimination.
    6. Collaboration: Coordinate with CCID programme teams on themes and support youth engagement activities linked to the DECIDE platform.

    Qualifications

    To support CCID’s mission of building resilient communities, the volunteer must possess specific skills and a commitment to human rights:

    • Advocacy Interest: A strong interest in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV, gender justice, or youth advocacy.
    • Communication Skills: Proficiency in youth-friendly communication and digital engagement.
    • Technical Skills: Comfort using WhatsApp and basic data management tools (Excel or Google Sheets); no advanced tech skills are required.

    Benefits: Volunteers gain hands-on experience in digital advocacy, training on safeguarding, a certificate of service.
