    About the Week

    The 2025 UNGA Week of International Affairs (Sept 21–29) is a citywide platform that expands the traditional high-level week into a people-powered celebration of Diplomacy • Multiculturalism & Diversity • Partnerships • Jobs & the Economy across New York City and the Tri-State region.

    UNGA Week (www.unitednationsweekly.net) convenes leaders from government, the private sector, diaspora communities, academia, civil society, arts and sports to turn dialogue into action—featuring sector invitations, flagship cultural events, and public-private partnership activations. As a co-convenor, NGOCPSD works alongside the Financing for Development Business Advisory Group and the FfD Investment Alliance, in coordination with the City of New York, Member States, and the New York Consular Corps.

    Role Summary

    Part-time volunteers (8–15 hrs/week) Starting September 3 - November 1, 2025 - Support pre-production, Opening Week operations (Sept 21–29), and post-event wrap-up through Nov 1. Flexible scheduling; evenings/weekends during peak dates. Orientation provided (virtual + on-site briefings).

    Teams & Assignments (choose your top 3)

    • Harlem Gospel Welcoming Opening (Sun, Sept 21): greeting/ushers, accessibility, VIP/diplomatic protocol desk, run-of-show support.
    • International Day of Peace Walk: route marshals, wayfinding, safety, comms relay.
    • World Peace Soccer Match (NJ): guest services, field/venue flow, media check-in.
    • Inaugural Diaspora General Assembly (University Series): registration, room monitors, speaker timing, webcast support.
    • International Nights (Food • Gallery • Music • Film • Sports): stage/production cues, audience services, partner liaison.
    • Press & Communications: press desk, live notes, social content capture, interview logistics.
    • Partnerships & Protocol: MOU/protocol signings assistance, VIP seating charts, dignitary escort.
    • Tech/AV & Livestream: microphones, slide decks, stream switching, basic troubleshooting.
    • Logistics & Runners: print/courier runs, supplies, signage, backstage support.

    Qualifications

    • Warm, reliable, and organized; excellent customer-service mindset.
    • Comfortable in fast-moving event settings; able to stand/walk for extended periods (event roles).
    • Clear communicator; basic tech fluency (slides/Zoom) for relevant roles.
    • Plus: multilingual ability; experience in events, protocol, AV, media, or campus organizing
