    Description

    Public Relations and Marketing Volunteer

At St. Sophia’s Forgotten Felines, volunteers make everything possible. We are a volunteer-run rescue that is dedicated to helping cats in need find safety, love, and forever homes. Every story we share and every adoption we celebrate begins with the hard work and heart of our volunteers.

We are expanding our communications team and looking for passionate, creative individuals who want to help us tell the stories that save lives and bring our rescue into the public spotlight.

We are looking for volunteers with interest or experience in:

    • Press releases and media outreach
    • Public relations and community engagement
    • Digital content creation
    • Graphic design and visual storytelling
    • Light video editing

    What you will do:

    • Draft press releases that highlight our events, adoption stories, fundraisers, and rescue milestones
    • Help submit upcoming events to local newspapers, community calendars, and media outlets
    • Build relationships with reporters, editors, and community partners
    • Create visually appealing and informative posts, photos, and short videos
    • Collaborate with our PR and Marketing team on campaigns and event promotions
    • Share the stories that inspire adoptions, foster applications, donations, and volunteer involvement
    • Help maintain a positive, consistent, mission-focused presence across all platforms

    This role is perfect for:

    • Anyone who wants to use their creativity for a meaningful cause
    • Communications, journalism, marketing, or media students looking to build a strong portfolio
    • Cat lovers who enjoy writing, photography, design, or storytelling
    • Volunteers who prefer flexible, remote-friendly work

    You are:

    • Passionate about animal rescue
    • Creative, organized, and dependable
    • Comfortable reaching out to media contacts and community partners
    • Able to work independently and also collaborate when needed
    • Excited to help grow a nonprofit’s presence in the community through storytelling and publicity

Bonus: Experience in journalism, PR, or nonprofit marketing is helpful but not required.
