    Description

The Bridge Era Institute (BEI) is a field-seeding think tank that applies a new AI-enabled “history test” for big ideas, to launch actionable frameworks that repair misaligned human systems and help society navigate the converging crises of the coming Bridge Era.

We validate theories backward through centuries of data, match them with the most effective strategies in history, publish high-leverage white papers, and convene cross-sector coalitions so society can move from speculation to grounded action.

As we build momentum in our startup phase, we are seeking a highly organized, reliable, and proactive Operations & Communications Assistant to help keep the engine running: maintaining our core systems, supporting communications, and ensuring key outreach and follow-ups actually happen.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Newsletter & publishing support
      • Help set up, format, and publish content on Substack and our website, including uploading drafts, inserting links, and managing basic layout.
    • Outreach & follow-up logistics
      • Prepare and send templated outreach emails to experts, advisors, and potential partners; track responses; and maintain a clean record of follow-ups.
      • Support scheduling for meetings with collaborators and volunteers (calendar invites, Zoom links, reminders).
    • Light CRM & pipeline tracking
      • Keep simple contact and pipeline trackers up to date (e.g., Notion) for stakeholders, experts, volunteers, and media.
      • Log meeting notes and decisions in agreed templates so the team can easily find what happened and what comes next.
    • Document & data room organization
      • Help maintain an organized shared drive / Notion space for decks, one-pagers, white paper drafts, and internal docs, using agreed naming conventions.
    • Social & content coordination
      • Coordinate with our social media volunteer to ensure key announcements (new posts, new launches, major milestones) are surfaced on social channels.
    • General operations support
      • Assist with simple forms, templates, and checklists (e.g., onboarding checklists for volunteers, recurring agenda docs for weekly meetings).
      • Flag operational risks or bottlenecks early (missed follow-ups, confused ownership, tools not updated) so the core team can address them.

    Who Should Apply?

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, including students, recent graduates, and professionals looking to contribute their skills to a mission-driven organization. Ideal candidates should:

    • Be self-starters with strong initiative and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
    • Be highly reliable and consistent, with strong time-management skills.
    • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Be comfortable using basic productivity tools (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive; Notion or Airtable a plus).
    • Have an interest in AI, civilizational change, public policy, or social impact, and be excited to support behind-the-scenes work that makes larger projects possible.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience with a nonprofit at the intersection of research, civilizational change, and practical institutional and human-level solutions.
    • Exposure to real-time strategy and fundraising work across a small but ambitious project.
    • Mentorship and networking opportunities with global experts in technology, policy, and economic transformation.
    • The chance to contribute to solutions shaping many areas of society.
    • A letter of recommendation and potential academic credit (if applicable).

    Details

    • Part-time, remote, 10–15 hours per week
    • One to two 30-minute meetings per week with core team members for planning and check-ins
    • Volunteer role (unpaid at start)
    • Timing: Starting as soon as possible

Duration: Minimum commitment of 2–3 months, with the option to extend if it’s a good mutual fit
