    Description

    General Description:

    ABCD’s network of neighborhood offices are the first point of contact for many individuals and families in need of critical services. The Roxbury/North Dorchester Neighborhood Opportunity Center provides elders with a number of programs, including a drop-in senior center and social activities. The Senior Center Volunteer will assist staff with the daily operations of the senior center and will work with seniors to enrich their experience.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the development of senior-specific programming and update the Senior Center calendar with new activities
    • Support senior recreation & engagement through participation in programming
    • Support seniors with administrative tasks as needed (filling out forms, making appointments, etc.)
    • Perform light data entry

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole preferred
    • Able to lift 15 pounds
    • Proficient with Google Calendar and Google Suite

    Length of Commitment:

    Ongoing

    Schedule (including day and time if applicable):

    Senior Center operates on Thursdays, 9am-1pm

    Other weekdays as available, 9am-5pm
