    WHAT:

    Join the YWCA Youth Education team as a volunteer for Guide to High School, an 8-week after-school program. Work with staff and peers to lead discussions and games on topics like friendship, healthy habits, extracurriculars, and bullying. Learn more: https://ywcavan.org/programs/youth-education

    WHY:

    Earn 30–35 university-qualified volunteer hours while building skills in leadership, facilitation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and public speaking. Connect with your community, network at the YWCA, and support youth leadership.

    This role will build skills in leadership, group management, conflict intervention, critical & creative thinking, problem-solving, public speaking, and community building.

    WHEN:

    1 day/week, 2:30–5:30 PM, Oct–Dec (+30 min prep at home)

    Training:

    • Oct 8 (5–7 PM, online)
    • Oct 14, 15 or 16 (2:30–5:30 PM, school orientation)
    • Oct 18 (9–4 PM, in person)

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    No experience needed. Volunteers receive YWCA training + an Inclusive Leadership & Facilitation Certificate (with minimum of 75% program completion).

    Must provide criminal record check, references, and complete training prior to program start.

    You will be contacted after your interview with instructions for the CRC (Criminal Record Check).
