    Description

    • Provide academic support to secondary school students in core subjects (e.g., Math, Science, English, Social Studies), aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
    • Assess students’ strengths and learning gaps to create personalized learning plans and strategies.
    • Deliver engaging one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions, adapting teaching methods for diverse learning styles and English language learners (ESL).
    • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to both students and program coordinators/parents.
    • Support the development of study skills, time management, and exam preparation techniques.
    • Encourage confidence, motivation, and a positive attitude toward learning in students.
    • Maintain accurate attendance and progress records in line with organizational reporting requirements.
    • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to support the overall mission of the not-for-profit.

    Who We're Looking For:

    • Minimum age: 12
    • Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills and software
    • Complete training prior to start date
    • Can commit to the shift schedule

    Bonus Skills:

    • Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English
    • Previous volunteer experience
