    Description

    Campaign Coordinator for Sustainability Nonprofit

    Organization: Sustainable Contra Costa (SCOCO)

Location: Remote / Flexible (Contra Costa County)

Impact: Help our community save water and build a resilient future.

Help Our Community Save Water and Money

Do you have a knack for finding great content and a passion for environmental storytelling? Sustainable Contra Costa (SCOCO) is looking for a creative, self-motivated Campaign Coordinator to lead our Spring 2026 Water Conservation Campaign. This is a 5-10 hour per week, unique opportunity to build your portfolio, master the tools of community engagement, and collaborate with a friendly, supportive team of community resilience champions.

The Project: Spring 2026 Water Conservation Campaign

Our goal is to inspire residents to transform their landscapes and conserve water. You will be the lead curator behind a multi-media campaign focused on:

    • Lawn-to-Garden Rebates & Sheet-mulching
    • Drip Irrigation & Leak Detection
    • Water-Wise Plant Selection & Landscape Design

    Your Role

As the Campaign Coordinator, you will bridge the gap between information and action. Your responsibilities include:

    • Content Research: Finding and gathering high-quality articles, photos, and videos that make water conservation accessible.
    • Video Editing (Ideally): Polishing or splicing existing assets into engaging, short-form clips for social media and email.
    • Campaign Execution: Integrating these materials into our Cleaner Contra Costa Challenge platform to drive measurable behavior change.
    • Messaging: Ensuring our outreach is consistent and helps residents take advantage of available local rebates.

    What You Bring

    • Creative Eye: You can identify compelling visuals and use them to tell a clear story.
    • Technical Savvy: Comfortable with online research and (ideally) basic video editing software.
    • Self-Starter Attitude: You enjoy the flexibility of remote work and are reliable at managing your own deadlines.
    • Local Focus: You care about the environmental and financial health of Contra Costa County.

    Why Volunteer with SCOCO?

    • Proven, Large-Scale Impact: Join a movement that has already empowered 6,000 households to save 1,800 tons of CO2 and over 4 million gallons of water.
    • Tangible Results for Neighbors: Help families save money. Our participants have saved over $855,000 in energy and resource costs—proving that sustainable actions are a direct win for our community’s financial health.
    • Professional Growth: Gain hands-on experience in non-profit communications and community education.
    • Networking: Connect with innovative leaders in the field of sustainability and resilience.
    • Perks: Flexible hours, community service credit, and professional references based on performance.

Sustainable Contra Costa is a nonprofit that promotes solutions and mobilizes actions that support ecosystems, save resources, and reduce waste to create healthy, resilient communities. We are a community of civic leaders, educators, activists, practitioners, and individuals united by our commitment to a world where everyone can thrive within the natural limits of our planet.
