    Location: Remote

    Position Overview

    The Blog Writer is a key volunteer role supporting EVENforONE’s survivor-led, trauma-informed mission to prevent human trafficking and support survivors. This role focuses on turning complex issues into clear, compelling, and accessible writing that educates the public and inspires action.

    You will collaborate with our team to craft original blog content rooted in a survivor- and trauma-informed perspective. Each month, you’ll write a full-length article on assigned topics, while also having space to propose ideas based on your interests and expertise. If you are passionate about ethical storytelling, social justice, and writing that drives meaningful impact, this role is a powerful way to contribute.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Write one original, high-quality blog post per month
    • Conduct credible, thoughtful research to inform trauma-informed writing
    • Translate complex or sensitive subjects into accessible, engaging content
    • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with EVENforONE’s brand voice and survivor-centered communication guidelines
    • Develop content based on assigned topics and pitch new ideas when inspired
    • Use Google Docs to draft, revise, and collaborate on content
    • Incorporate feedback and edits

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing, editing, and research abilities
    • Ability to write in an engaging, ethical, survivor-centered tone
    • Familiarity with content writing, blogging, or SEO best practices (asset, not required)
    • Interest in learning about human trafficking topics
    • Reliable, collaborative, and responsive
    • Ability to distill complex information into accessible content
    • Growth mindset and openness to ongoing learning
    • Must acquire and pass a background check

    Training & Support Provided

    • Orientation on EVENforONE’s voice, values, and trauma-informed communication approach
    • Guidance on assigned topics and editorial expectations
    • Weekly team meetings, regular communication with COO

    Impact of This Role

    Your writing will expand public understanding of trafficking, challenge misconceptions, and offer readers practical ways to recognize, prevent, and respond to exploitation. By crafting accessible content rooted in survivor-informed practices, you help inspire action, shift narratives, and strengthen community awareness in Canada and the USA.
