About the Opportunity
Powered By Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Brand & Design Specialist to help us formally define and establish a consistent, impactful, and professional visual identity. This is a high-impact, foundational role focused on creating the systems that will unify all our communications.
This volunteer will translate the spirit of "Powered By Love" and our specific color palette into a formal Brand Guide and a suite of easy-to-use templates for the entire organization.
Key Responsibilities
This volunteer will play a vital role in translating our established color palette and organizational mission into usable assets and design systems.
- Core Deliverable: Brand Guide Creation:
- High Priority: Develop a comprehensive, written Brand Identity Guide that documents our visual standards (logo usage, typography, color codes, image style, tone, and voice guidelines).
- Establish a consistent brand "feel" across all internal and external communication touchpoints.
- Template & System Creation:
- Design and build standardized templates for essential tools like Canva, Google Docs, and PowerPoint to ensure consistency across all teams.
- Organize and manage digital assets (logos, icons, photography guidelines) for easy team access.
- Design & Production:
- Design and produce various collateral, including flyers, digital graphics, and outreach toolkits for Powered By Love programs.
- Create compelling social media assets and branded visuals.
- Brand Stewardship:
- Uphold and champion the newly defined Powered By Love brand standards across all created materials.
- Optional/Stretch Goal: Assist with creating mockups for branded swag (shirts, tote bags, event posters).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Design Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with professional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or advanced proficiency with Canva.
- Branding & Layout: A strong eye for color, layout, typography, and professional branding standards. Experience creating or contributing to a formal Brand Guide is a major asset.
- Portfolio: Submission of a professional design portfolio that includes work aligned with social impact or mission-driven organizations is a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Passion for storytelling through design, comfort with receiving and incorporating feedback, and a high degree of reliability and accountability.
- Bonus: Experience working with nonprofit organizations or designing for mission-driven causes.
