Position Overview
The Philanthropy and Donor Experience Manager will serve as a key member of the Advancement Team, responsible for cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, sponsors, external volunteers and community partners that sustain CivicsEDU’s mission and growth.
This position focuses on assisting in all organization fundraising planning and implementation efforts, communication and community correspondence, and developing engagement strategies that foster lasting connections, enhance donor stewardship, engage volunteers, and expand partnerships with schools, civic organizations, foundations and corporate entities. The selected candidate will help ensure that every supporter feels valued and connected to the impact of civic education across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to engage, retain, and recognize individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Manages volunteer recruitment and program implementation.
- Support the cultivation and management of partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.
- Coordinate donor communications, acknowledgments, and reports that highlight the outcomes of their support.
- Collaborate with program and communications teams to collect impact stories and data for donor outreach materials.
- Maintain accurate donor and partner information within the CRM system, tracking engagement and contribution trends.
- Assist in preparing sponsorship proposals, partnership presentations, and stewardship materials.
- Represent CivicsEDU at community events, meetings, and partnership showcases to enhance visibility and relationship-building.
Time Commitment
We hold monthly all-staff meetings lasting approximately one hour each, and each team may meet up to three times a month for collaborative projects. While there are no fixed work hours, we encourage the selected candidate to dedicate available time between meetings to projects relevant to their role.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, communications, or a related field is desirable; collegiate students with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated interest in civic engagement, philanthropy, and community development.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Experience with donor or partner relations, fundraising, or community outreach preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain organization, and work collaboratively.
- Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and transparency in relationship-building and communications.
- Preference will be given to candidates residing within the Charlotte metropolitan area.
