    Description

Interim Program Manager (Volunteer Leadership Role | Growth Phase)

Helping the Hopeless is a growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving underserved families, seniors, veterans, and foster youth throughout the Antelope Valley. As we expand our warehouse distribution and community partnerships, we are strengthening our operational infrastructure to support long-term sustainability and measurable impact.

We are seeking an experienced Interim Program Manager to provide strategic oversight and operational guidance during this growth phase. This volunteer leadership role is ideal for a seasoned nonprofit professional who is comfortable refining systems, improving workflows, and helping position an organization for scalable growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess and strengthen program structure and operational workflows
    • Establish measurable outcomes and basic reporting systems
    • Support volunteer coordination and distribution logistics
    • Provide strategic input on program development and scalability
    • Collaborate directly with the Executive Director on infrastructure planning

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in nonprofit program management or operations
    • Demonstrated ability to build or improve systems in growing organizations
    • Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills
    • Comfortable working in a startup-stage environment
    • Commitment to ethical stewardship and community impact

    Commitment:

    • 5–10 hours per week
    • 90-day initial engagement
    • Remote or hybrid (Antelope Valley preferred)

This is a volunteer leadership role during our foundational phase. If funding is secured and the engagement proves to be a strong mutual fit, there may be an opportunity for a paid position in the future. Compensation is not guaranteed and is contingent upon funding availability.

We are seeking a professional who understands that strong systems create sustainable community impact.
