    MarCom Volunteer - Black Historic Cemetery Preservation

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative MarCom (Marketing Communications) Volunteer to support outreach efforts for a Black historic cemetery preservation project in Atlanta. This role will play a key part in developing compelling written and visual materials that communicate our mission, raise community awareness, and support our volunteer and fundraising initiatives.

    The ideal candidate has experience in marketing, content creation, and basic design, and is passionate about using storytelling to preserve history and advocate for community-led restoration.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop messaging frameworks, taglines, and talking points for use across outreach channels
    • Create visually engaging flyers, brochures, and fact sheets tailored to diverse audiences
    • Draft email and print communications to support volunteer recruitment and fundraising
    • Assist in packaging content and materials for the social media and outreach volunteers
    • Ensure consistent branding and tone across all public-facing materials
    • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator and community outreach lead to align messaging with upcoming events or campaigns

    Qualifications:

    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
    • Ability to distill complex or emotional topics into clear, respectful messaging
    • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid setting
    • Interest in community history, African American heritage, or preservation a plus
