Are you a high school student ready to spark change in your community?
Join Rhizome's year-long Civic Service Fellowship to gain hands-on experience in civic engagement, nonpartisan action, and community organizing! Fellows design and lead real projects that strengthen democracy and build resilience in their own community.
This opportunity is mostly remote with occasional in-person events.
Responsibilities
- Commit 3 hours per week during the school year
- Plan and lead community events such as voter-registration drives, climate-action projects, and neighborhood service days
- Work with a team of other youth leaders to identify local needs and create solutions

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in high school (grades 9–12)
- Passionate about civic service, community building, or other social issues
- Reliable and able to attend weekly virtual meetings
- No prior experience required- just bring your enthusiasm and ideas!
Time Commitment
- Approximately 3 hours per week, flexible remote scheduling with occasional evening or weekend events.
