    Educate. Radiate. Elevate. is looking for Board of Director members! You can help support the organization’s sustainability through financial contributions, recruiting, outreach, and improvement of procedures and policies - all while playing a valuable role in improving the lives of our most vulnerable youth. Strong education is truly life-changing - not just for the child receiving the support, but also for the student’s family, community, and society.

    About Us

    Educate. Radiate. Elevate. (E.R.E.) is a nonprofit operating in IL and TX formed during the pandemic to address the growing achievement gap due to school closures. Our purpose is to strengthen the educational achievement of underserved students by providing them with high-quality instruction from experienced tutors who will assist them with academics, enrichment, and test prep as well as essential learning and life skills. Our mission is to minimize the disproportionate learning losses for low-income students to provide economic, social, and emotional stability for the youth served, their families, and their communities.

    Requirements

    You’ll be a great addition to our Board if you:

    • Reside in Illinois or Texas.
    • Are passionate about education and equity.
    • Have experience working with socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
    • Are a proactive, collaborative self-starter comfortable working remotely.
    • Are eager to contribute your expertise, skills, and network creatively.

    Duties

    Approximately 10-15 hours per month, focusing on:

    • Advocacy: Serve as an ambassador for E.R.E., spreading awareness and inspiring interest in your network.
    • Support: Help develop resources, connections, and staffing for E.R.E.
    • Decision-Making: Participate in Board discussions, contributing to policies and strategic planning.
    • Expertise Utilization: Apply your professional skills to assist with goal-oriented tasks.

    Commitments

    • Attend Board meetings (at least once per quarter) and committee meetings (every other month).
    • Regularly complete specific KPIs tied to organizational objectives.
    • Donate or raise at least $1,000 per fiscal year ($500 at onboarding).
    • Commit to serving for at least one full year.
