    Organizational Overview:

Innovations for Sustainability Africa (ISA) is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization committed to empowering children, youth, and women through innovative education, health, sustainable livelihoods, environmental conservation, and community leadership. ISA partners with communities, government agencies, civil society, and the private sector to implement inclusive and innovative solutions for sustainable development.

    About Role:

This is a remote Volunteer role and the individual in this role will support Innovations for Sustainability Africa (ISA) in developing a 3-year strategic plan (2026–2029) by clarifying strategic priorities, impact pathways, and an actionable results framework that aligns programs, partnerships, and resources. This is a voluntary, non-remunerated role. However, ISA is committed to providing clear attribution, references, and meaningful professional engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Strategic Analysis
      • Review ISA’s mission, vision, and thematic focus areas.
      • Support a situational and stakeholder analysis (light-touch, practical).
    2. Strategic Framework Development
      • Facilitate the articulation of ISA’s strategic goals and outcomes for the next three years.
      • Support the development of a high-level Theory of Change or impact pathway, linking:
        • priority problems,
        • core interventions,
        • expected outcomes,
        • long-term impact.
    3. Program & Portfolio Alignment
      • Help align existing and planned initiatives with the strategic framework.
      • Identify gaps, overlaps, and strategic trade-offs.
    4. Learning, Measurement & Assumptions
      • Support the definition of key assumptions, risks, and learning questions.
      • Propose a simple results and learning framework suitable for an early-stage organization.
    5. Documentation & Synthesis
      • Contribute to drafting or refining sections of the 3-year strategic plan.
      • Support the preparation of a concise, board-ready strategy document.

    Expected Deliverables

      • A draft or refined 3-year strategic framework (goals, outcomes, priorities).
      • A high-level Theory of Change / impact pathway (1–2 pages or visual).
      • A simple results and learning framework aligned to the strategy.
      • Input into a board-facing strategic plan document.

    Desired Profile

      • Background in strategy, development practice, policy, or organizational planning.
      • Experience with Theory of Change, results frameworks, or strategic planning.
      • Ability to translate complexity into clear, practical structures.
      • Strong writing and synthesis skills.
