We are building a powerful, youth-centered movement at The Younger Legacy Academy, and we are assembling a diverse Volunteer Team across multiple departments. Our mission is to empower children, teens, and families through education, innovation, wellness, creativity, and community outreach.

About the Opportunity
Volunteers will support one or more of YLA’s active departments. You may choose the areas that fit your skills, schedule, or passion:
- Homeschool & Early Childhood Support
- Assist with early learning for children ages 5 months to 10 years
- Support reading, writing, STEM play, sensory activities, arts, and structured lessons
- Join field trips, hands-on projects, and enrichment days
- Help build a safe, nurturing, and creative learning environment
- STEM Innovation & Prototyping
- Support youth innovation projects, electronics builds, and product concepts
- Assist with simple prototyping (Snap-style electronics, beginner circuits, device testing)
- Brainstorm and help develop youth-friendly inventions and educational tools
- Work with our Innovation Team on early-stage designs before NDA-protected projects
- App, Coding, & Game Development
- Help build youth-focused apps (including our Financial ABCs learning app)
- Assist with simple UI/UX, wireframes, or prototype screens
- Support development of educational mini-games
- Perfect for students studying computer science, design, IT, engineering, or tech
- Creative Media, Branding & Digital Content
- Create simple graphics, worksheets, flyers, or lesson visuals
- Help design youth-friendly learning materials
- Support social media content, media planning, or creative campaigns
- Community Outreach & Family Support
- Assist with food programs, resource distribution, and community events
- Help families connect with education, wellness, and support services
- Participate in YLA’s youth empowerment and family outreach initiatives
- Financial Literacy & Life Skills Mentoring
- Help teach basic budgeting, saving, credit basics (no experience required)
- Support youth and adults in building confidence with money management
- Assist with our upcoming Financial Leaders program
- Research, Program Development & Admin Support
- Support the growth of YLA programs through research, documentation, and planning
- Help with scheduling, communications, volunteer management, and project organization
- Contribute to building long-term systems that strengthen the Academy
