    A Hospice Patient Pampering Volunteer

    Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients facing the end of life? VITAS Healthcare is a Hospice seeking compassionate volunteers to be a part of our new VITAS Individualized Pampering (VIP) Program, providing personalized spa-like services and engaging mental activities that bring comfort and joy. Currently looking for volunteers in the Pacific Beach area for patients who reside in Assisted Living Facilities in that community.

    All volunteers are required to attend a 1 hr Zoom from home AND a comprehensive in-person orientation to gain the knowledge you will need to work with terminally ill patients. TB test and background check are also required and are provided by VITAS. Zoom orientation held 3x per month and in-person orientation every other month.

    Upcoming New Volunteer Orientation:

    Saturday, January 11th from 8:30 am - 4 pm

    Orientation is held at our office located at:

    Continental breakfast and lunch provided.

    There is also an option to complete orientation a via Zoom and self-study combination.

    As a VIP Program volunteer, you'll have the chance to participate in various activities that will brighten the days of those we serve. Our personalized pampering services and activities help ease anxiety, relieve stress, engage the mind, and comfort the body of our patients.

    We are in immediate need of volunteers to:

    - Provide nail and facial care

    - Give aromatherapy hand massages

    - Play cards and games with patients

    - Do arts and crafts together

    - Listen to music

    - And more!
