    Description

Bilingual Community Outreach & Special Events Volunteer

    Position Summary:

We are seeking enthusiastic bilingual volunteers to support both our community outreach and special event initiatives. This unique role combines direct service to community members with behind-the-scenes support for fundraising and awareness events. Volunteers will play a vital part in bridging language and cultural gaps.

    Responsibilities:

    Community Outreach

    • Provide interpretation and translation support at outreach events, workshops, and community meetings.
    • Assist in creating bilingual flyers, outreach materials, and social media posts.
    • Connect with community members to share resources and services.

    Special Events & Fundraising

    • Support planning and preparation for fundraising events (galas, charity runs, fairs, auctions).
    • Assist with event-day operations (registration, guest support, set-up/clean-up, donation tables).
    • Promote events through word-of-mouth, social media, and distributing flyers in the community.

    Time Commitment

    • Minimum of 3–6 hours per month (outreach, events, or both).
    • Some evening or weekend availability is helpful for special events.
    • Commitment period: 3–6 months preferred, but short-term or one-time volunteers welcome for events.

    Flexibility

    • Outreach opportunities are often scheduled during weekdays, with occasional evening/weekend activities.
    • Special events may require longer shifts (4–6 hours) on the day of the event.
    • Volunteers can choose opportunities that fit their schedule.

    Training & Support

    • Orientation provided to all new volunteers.
    • Additional training on the needs for interpretation/translation, or event-specific roles.
    • Ongoing staff support and check-ins to ensure volunteers feel confident.
