Server

As a server, volunteers will take guests’ orders, relay them to the kitchen, serve meals, and ensure guests are enjoying their dining experience. They will also learn how to prepare and present checks, handle side cleaning duties, and reset tables for the next service.

Serving at the Steinbeck House provides hands-on experience in interpersonal skills, teamwork, and working in a restaurant/hospitality setting. Because the Steinbeck House is run entirely by volunteers, it’s essential to create a welcoming experience for guests while also preserving this treasured historic landmark. This role is a wonderful way to give back to the community while creating lasting memories for both local and international visitors
