    Product Owner (Part-Time, 5–10 hrs/week)

Trailfunds | Remote | Volunteer or small stipend depending on funding

    About Trailfunds

Trailfunds is a nonprofit tech platform that helps outdoor stewardship organizations reach new supporters, engage volunteers, and showcase the work they do on the ground. We build tools that make it easier for trail users to support the nonprofits who maintain our public lands.

We are redesigning our platform and adding new features, and we’re looking for a part-time Product Owner to help shape the next phase of the Trailfunds experience.

    Role Overview

The Product Owner will help translate ideas, partner feedback, and strategic goals into clear product priorities. You’ll support the Founder in planning features, organizing user stories, and moving the roadmap forward.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in product management who wants to contribute meaningfully to conservation tech.

    What You’ll Do

    • Help maintain and organize the product backlog
    • Turn concepts into user stories and basic requirements
    • Support coordination between design, development, and operations
    • Gather and synthesize feedback from Trailfunds partner organizations
    • Assist in planning sprints and tracking progress
    • Keep product documentation clear and up to date

    What We’re Looking For

    • Strong interest in product development and user-centered design
    • Clear communicator who can bring structure to abstract ideas
    • Familiarity with modern SaaS or mobile app concepts
    • Comfortable working independently in a flexible schedule
    • Bonus: experience with nonprofits, outdoor stewardship, or mapping tools

    Hours & Compensation

    • 5–10 hours per week
